Buying Bahamian · Policies & Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 23, 2026
Who we are
Buying Bahamian operates buyingbahamian.com from The Bahamas. For privacy requests, contact [email protected]. This notice covers our website, accounts, bookshop, service enquiries, Ad Board, directory and newsletter.
Information we process
We process information you provide: account email and a protected password representation, account-linked order history and payment references, contact messages, service requests, newsletter consent, business profiles, ads and messages to listers. Published listings may include the contact information and media you choose to make public. Private messages are available to their participants and authorized administration for support, moderation and investigation.
Why we use it
We use this information to provide accounts, process and support purchases, verify payments, deliver files, manage listings, respond to enquiries, protect the site and comply with applicable obligations. Newsletter subscriptions are optional and require separate consent. We do not sell personal information.
Providers and international processing
Cloudflare hosts the site and stores application data and files. PayPal processes payments under its own terms and privacy notice; we do not receive your full card details. Email and messaging providers process correspondence when those channels are used. Information may be processed outside The Bahamas. We share only what is needed for the relevant service or a legal obligation. External businesses receive the enquiries you direct to them.
Retention and your choices
We retain information for the account, transaction, support, security and legal purposes for which it is needed, rather than indefinitely for unrelated uses. Ask us to access, correct, export or delete your information, close an account, or object to marketing at [email protected]. We may verify your identity. Records required for lawful accounting, unresolved disputes, fraud prevention or other legal obligations may be retained; we will explain any restriction on a request. Newsletter withdrawal does not prevent essential order or account communications.
Security, children and sensitive information
We use access restrictions, secure connections and password protection. No online system can guarantee absolute security. Adults should make purchases and manage accounts. Do not submit passwords for other services, card information, completed family organizers, private financial records or children’s personal information through listings or messages. Contact us if a child has submitted information so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Questions and complaints
Contact us first to resolve privacy concerns. You may also contact the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in The Bahamas or the relevant supervisory authority where applicable. Material updates will be reflected in this notice’s date.
